Brooks Johnson, Founder of Quantum Reality Capture

Founder & SME

Architect-trained. Field-proven. Built for AEC.

“I trained as an architect. I helped stand up a LiDAR practice inside a large AEC firm. I built QRC because the gap between field reality and design documentation is where projects fail — and where the most value is created.”
— Brooks Johnson, Founder

QRC was founded by an architect who lived the as-built problem from both sides of the table. That perspective shapes how every deliverable is scoped, captured, processed, and handed off — for AEC professionals and the owners who fund the work.

Our Journey

From Reality Capture Services to Full Service Spatial Intelligence Solutions

QRC combines nationwide services, technology, training and implementation in a single spatial-intelligence platform.

On-Demand Capacity

Surveyor operating a handheld mobile SLAM LiDAR scanner inside a building under construction

QRC was founded in Charleston, SC, to deliver BIM-ready as-built documentation for local AEC projects. For firms handling ad-hoc adaptive reuse, our model provided survey-grade precision on demand—without heavy CapEx investments or in-house VDC staffing.

The In-House Control Blind Spot

Boardroom team reviewing a 3D point cloud building scan on a large screen

As enterprise clients managing continuous multi-site portfolios approached us for internal equipment, we identified a market gap. Service-only execution couldn’t fulfill the operational realities of firms structured around dedicated technology teams and high CapEx budgets.

Turnkey Solution Provider

QRC and XGRIDS co-branded partnership logo

QRC partnered with XGRIDS to deliver cutting-edge 3D spatial computing hardware, software, and training directly to clients. Today, QRC offers Services when you need Capacity, Technology when you want Control, and a single accountable partner across North America.

Whether building internal capacity from the ground up or leveraging specialized third-party expertise, your deployment model must align with your operational framework.

Our Values

The QRC Shield

The QRC Shield is more than a logo. It is a promise to our clients, layered and deliberate. To them, the vibrant orange shield is a symbol of absolute certainty—not because we claim it—but because we can prove it.

The Outer Shield Commitment to Excellence

We do not estimate, we measure. We do not assume, we verify. Every deliverable is grounded in data, built on rigor, and designed to give our clients absolute clarity and precision-driven confidence.

The Inner Q Earned Trust

Trust is not a credential that can be displayed. Trust is not something given freely and it is never assumed. Trust must be earned every single day. When trust is earned, it instills the kind of confidence that doesn't require a sales pitch—it speaks for itself.

The Heart Character Over Convenience

Choosing the right path, even when it's difficult. Delivering the truth, even when it's inconvenient. Respecting others, even when we disagree. These are not aspirations. They are the standards by which we measure ourselves, every day, without exception.

Brooks Johnson, Founder & CEO

Brooks Johnson

Founder & CEO

Raised in a family of architects and earning his degree in Architecture from Clemson University, Brooks Johnson brings deep industry lineage to Quantum Reality Capture (QRC). Having experienced firsthand the friction, measurement errors, and schedule delays inherent to traditional field survey methods, Brooks launched QRC to bridge the operational gap between initial site captures and BIM execution. His background fosters an immediate, peer-to-peer connection with AEC clients—knowing many by first name and building a foundation of trust that directly fueled QRC's rapid early growth. Under his strategic vision, QRC evolved from a regional as-built documentation firm into a national spatial intelligence partner and authorized XGRIDS integration provider, empowering architecture, engineering, and construction teams across North America with survey-grade mobile SLAM LiDAR technology and operational certainty.
